Sgraffito Workshop

Perfect for first-timer, and experienced ceramicists looking to learn a new surface decoration technique.

This 3 hr workshop will focus in the fundamentals of working with slabs and decorating with underglaze using the sgraffito technique. Sgraffito comes from the Italian word “graffiare” which means to scratch.

Participants will decorate a cylinder cup/planter by painting their pieces with colored underglazes and scratching away designs to expose the clay underneath.

Students are encouraged to bring images (print outs) for inspiration.

All materials, firing & glazing included.

$95 . Light refreshments will be provided. BYOB
